OG Kush, also known as “OGK,” is an indica strain with unknown parentage due to breeder secrecy, although it is thought to be a cross of the iconic Chemdawg X Hindu Kush strains. Probably the most famous strain in the world of medicinal marijuana, OG Kush is perfect for any indica lover. It starts almost as soon as you exhale, filling your brain with an uplifted sense of unfocused happiness and ease. You'll find yourself feeling sociable and outgoing, chatting with anyone and everyone around you, although you may fall in and out of fits of the giggles at times. A pang of hunger comes next, leaving you with a heavy case of the munchies and reaching for anything in sight to snack on. OG Kush is a great choice for treating those suffering from conditions such as chronic stress or anxiety, mood swings or depression, appetite loss or nausea and migraines or headaches. This bud has a classic sour citrusy flavor with hints of woody pine. The aroma is very similar, with a spicy kushy overtone that's accented by sour citrus, woody pine and pungent dank. OG Kush buds have fat grape-shaped forest green nugs with long, thin orange hairs, golden undertones and a coating of tiny, golden-white crystal trichomes.
About this strain: Old School Og
Origin 1: Old School OG by SoCal Seed Collective
Known as Old School Kush, SoCal Seed Collective developed this vintage cross by breeding an Afghani with a Hindu Kush (F1). In their own words, the result was an "Old School Afghani meets Old School Hindu Kush." With intense resin production and that alluring kushy aroma, this is a bucket-list genetic for any kush connoisseur. According to SoCal Seeds, this is a heavy narcotic high that will leave you melting.
Origin 2: Old School OG by Breeders
Another Old School Kush was released by a Colombia-based brand known only as Breeders. This is a much more complex cross of vintage genetics. It starts with a three-way mashup of DeepChunk, Bubba Kush (pre '98 cut), and Lebanese. Then, the result was crossed with Hindu Kush. There are no reviews about its aroma, flavor, or effects as of yet.
Origin 3: Old School OG by unknown
A final contender within the Old School OG family is a cross of Pure Kush and OG Kush. This is a high-THC and chilled-out strain that's dialed into evening sessions on the sofa. As soon as you open the grinder, you'll get that memory flashback of a perfect early '90s kush, combined with potent cheesy notes.
