I visited this dispensary and was surprised by the lack of ID verification. I was able to enter the dispensary, walk through the retail area, browse the products, and interact with the flower displayed on the sales floor while employees were present, all without anyone checking my identification. For anyone unfamiliar with New Jersey cannabis regulations, N.J.A.C. 17:30-14.3(a) requires cannabis retailer personnel to examine a consumer’s photographic identification and confirm legal age before allowing entrance to a cannabis retailer, in addition to verifying age prior to the sale or service of cannabis. Regardless of a customer’s apparent age, age verification is an important part of operating a licensed and compliant cannabis establishment. I found the lack of verification concerning and felt it was worth mentioning for other consumers.
