Pep "Mug Shot" Tee

SWAY co-founder Pepe Peña’s birthday is around the corner, and we’re celebrating by paying it forward. In 1962, Pep’s mother helped him, his brother, and his sister flee Cuba. It was a journey that brought him to Chicago, the first place he ever truly felt free…and fell in love. During the era of police raids on queer bars, Pep was often arrested and locked up on trumped-up charges. His 1980 mug shot serves as a reminder of how far we’ve come and why we can never stop standing up to injustice. In honor of Pep's birthday, we’re raising funds for First Hand Aid by selling exclusive mug shot tees and mugs. 100% of the proceeds support First Hand Aid’s volunteer-led work to gather and distribute humanitarian and medical aid to the most marginalized Cubans, giving them hope, dignity, and the necessities of life and health.
