Vape Cartridge - GRANDDADDY PURP 1G Original THC Pod - STIIIZY
Granddaddy Purple is one of the strains that taught an entire generation what purple weed was supposed to look, smell, and smoke like. Popularized in Northern California by breeder Ken Estes in 2003, GDP is most commonly documented as a cross of Purple Urkle and Big Bud, followed by additional backcrossing. Purple Urkle brought the color and fruit-heavy character, while Big Bud contributed the thick flower structure and production that helped GDP become more than another pretty purple cut.
GDP wears the family colors hard. Dense, chunky flowers can fade from forest green into deep violet and purple beneath fiery orange pistils and a thick layer of crystal trichomes. The aroma is pure purple-era nostalgia: ripe grape, dark berries, sweet fruit, earth, and floral spice, with pine and peppery herbs filling out the back end.
Folks who swear by this one describe a euphoric, hazy opening that quickly settles into deep relaxation and sleepiness. Weedmaps reports relaxation as its most common effect, followed by sleepy and euphoric. GDP became the kind of strain people learned to recognize before somebody even told them what was in the jar.
The reputation came with hardware. Granddaddy Purps took first place for Best U.S. Indica Flower at the 2015 Denver High Times Cannabis Cup, more than a decade after Estes brought GDP into the Northern California scene. By then, the strain had already become one of the defining purple cultivars of the 2000s.
