Every plant carrying the Haze name traces to the Santa Cruz hills of the early 1970s, where two growers spent successive seasons layering Colombian, Mexican, South Indian and Thai landraces into one long-flowering line. The equatorial parents set the pace. Haze has been a long-season plant ever since; it ripens late, and a grower builds the room's schedule around it rather than the other way round. This is a sativa out of that family, and it asks for the same patience. Published profiles agree on the nose: bright citrus and sweet ripe fruit in front, with the peppery, incense-like spice of the Haze family underneath. Dank is HPI Canna's in-house label, and HPI grows and processes under its own roof rather than putting a name on someone else's product, which is what lets a late-finishing line like this take the weeks it needs. HPI runs plant to product on its own site rather than outsourcing, partners with more than forty farms through its Growers Network, and brings a number of outside labels into the state's legal market alongside its own.
