Banana OG lets the fruit get ripe and the high take its time. Overripe banana leads its reputation, followed by a creeping, heavy-eyed finish that can turn a comfortable seat into the evening’s main event. Several breeders use the name, though their recipes range from the original cut to later breeding projects and a separately reported cross.

Origin 1: Orgnkid’s original line. Banana OG is attributed to Orgnkid and described as Ghost OG crossed with a banana-scented phenotype of Sagarmatha’s 60/40 line. Often shortened to Ghost OG × Banana, this is the legacy version behind many later Banana OG crosses.

Origin 2: Apothecary Genetics. Apothecary describes its pairing as “male OG × Banana.” The accompanying genealogy identifies Banana OG × Joe’s OG Kush, making this a further OG cross rather than an exact reproduction of Orgnkid’s original.

Origin 3: Humboldt Seed Company. Humboldt’s listed pedigree combines the classic Banana OG clone, Banana OG S1 #21, and Banana OG Bx3. This is a worked line within the Banana OG family, with its own production traits and a more uplifting effect description than the original’s sleepy reputation.

Origin 4: Flavour Chasers. This breeder lists OG Kush × Skunk Haze, describing a 70% indica hybrid with pronounced overripe-banana flavor. That published pairing differs from the Ghost OG × Banana lineage.

Origin 5: Geistgrow’s Banana OG (Cup Winner). Geistgrow crosses a Banana OG selection labeled “Cup Winner” with Geist OG. The result is a separate hybrid using Banana OG as a parent; the supplied record does not identify the competition behind the parent’s label.

The original cut’s aroma leans toward bananas left a little longer in the fruit bowl, with cinnamon and dried-floral spice emerging after grinding. One account finds surprisingly little of the fresh pine associated with OG. Humboldt’s version takes a different turn, pairing sweet banana with petrol on the finish. Same fruit aisle, different fuel bill.

Appearance depends on the selection. Humboldt’s line is described as producing large, compact, heavily resinous flowers on upright, vigorous plants. Those substantial colas belong to that breeding description, rather than serving as a promise for every jar carrying the name.

Folks who’ve spent real time with this cut describe the original Banana OG as a slow-building body high with heavy eyelids, a strong appetite, and a sleepy finish. Flavour Chasers also emphasizes a delayed onset, while Humboldt’s description gives its line a more uplifting opening. The original’s first impression can be softer than its eventual landing.
