Product description
## Gold Standard - Blue Taffeze - 14g Blue Taffeze is the least documented of Gold Standard's new half ounces, so here is the plain version first: no Weedmaps listing, no published lineage, no classification from the grower. What is documented is the farm. Gold Standard grows in its own greenhouses in the Sierra Foothills of Nevada County and ships to us straight from its own license. The name points toward blue candy, and the few outside records point toward one breeder, with a caution attached. Pick it if you like being early to a strain and are happy to let the bag make its own case. ### Quick Specs | | | |---|---| | **Type** | Hybrid; Gold Standard has not published a classification | | **Format** | 14g greenhouse flower, Gold Standard half ounce (1/2 oz) | | **Onset** | 5-10 minutes | | **Duration** | 2-3 hours | | **Best Time** | Late afternoon into evening | ### Genetics & Lineage Gold Standard has not published the parents. Start with what Blue Taffeze is not: it is not Blue Taffy. Gold Standard grows a separate strain by that name, along with a Red Taffy, and nothing on record ties the two together. The name does turn up elsewhere. A Bay Area clone catalog lists Blue Taffeze among the strains of Kounter Kulture Genetics, the breeder of Blue Andeze, a Thin Mint GSC x DJ Short Blueberry cross known for a loud candy nose. A New Jersey grower, Garden Greens, sells a Blue Taffeze it lists as Blue Andeze x Blue Zushi, and a seed maker, Organicx Genetics, uses Blue Taffeze as a parent in one of its own crosses. Gold Standard also grows Applescotti, Heir Heads and Zuava, three other names the same catalog credits to Kounter Kulture, and it grows Blue Zushi. That is a pattern, not a pedigree. The brand has not said where its Blue Taffeze came from, and we are not treating the Kounter Kulture line as confirmed. ### Flavor & Aroma Unpublished for Gold Standard's cut. The name promises blue candy, taffy-sweet with berry in it. The one grower that publishes notes on its own Blue Taffeze, the New Jersey version, describes ripe blueberry, soft vanilla and a little citrus with a creamy finish, and lists caryophyllene, myrcene and linalool as its leading terpenes. Blue Andeze, named in that lineage, is known for a candy nose in the blue raspberry and blueberry-mint range, and Blue Zushi, the other parent in that version, runs mint, flowers and berry. None of that is Gold Standard's data; it is a sketch of what the name usually means. The label on the bag carries the tested numbers for this batch. ### Effects Also unpublished. Other parties' labels lean one way: the New Jersey grower calls its Blue Taffeze an indica hybrid, and one other California dispensary that stocks Gold Standard files this strain as an indica. Blue Zushi, one of the parents in the New Jersey lineage, is mostly calming per Leafly, with euphoric, relaxed and tingly as its top effects. Read that as a probable shape: a lift in mood first, then a relaxed, heavier finish. Until you know how this batch runs, treat it as a late-afternoon-to-evening flower and start small. Dry mouth is a safe bet. ### Best For - **Candy strain fans:** the name says blue candy, and the one grower that publishes notes agrees - **Trying something early:** a strain with almost no footprint online yet - **Evenings with company:** the labels on other versions lean indica - **Gold Standard regulars:** the farm's newest name, next to Lemon Cherry Sherbet, Purple Octane and Ron Burgundy Not for: anyone who needs a confirmed lineage or a published type before buying. ### Pairings Food: something salty and warm against the sweet, a sandwich from Molinari Delicatessen or a slice from Golden Boy Pizza. Music: bright and a little dreamy, Beach House's Teen Dream or a Khruangbin record. Activity: an hour in City Lights Bookstore, then a bench in Washington Square. If you would rather know exactly what you are getting, Lemon Cherry Sherbet from the same farm has its parents on paper. ### Cultivation Gold Standard is KCP Corp's brand, and KCP Corp holds a state microbusiness license in Nevada County. The brand describes a family of local growers working greenhouses in the Sierra Foothills: climate-controlled light-assist houses, where lamps top up the sun, and light-deprivation houses, where covers shorten the day to trigger flowering. It does not print which kind grew a given batch. The company's state cultivation license is a cottage-class Mixed-Light Tier 1 permit, the tier for low levels of added light, and a state environmental filing lists Grass Valley. Like the rest of Gold Standard's flower on our shelf, this bag came to us directly from the grower's own license. The brand's catalog includes several modern dessert and candy crosses, Applescotti, Blue Zushi and Heir Heads among them, the neighborhood Blue Taffeze's name suggests. ### Dosing **New to flower:** one or two puffs, then wait fifteen minutes. An unfamiliar strain deserves a slow start. **Regular smoker:** a half-gram joint. Note which way it leans before rolling the next. **Heavy tolerance:** a gram, late afternoon or evening, once you know the batch. ### Storage Leave the bag sealed until you start it. After that, a glass jar with a humidity pack, somewhere cool and dark, keeps a half ounce in shape for weeks. Candy notes are the first thing to fade when flower sits open or warm. --- ### Similar Strains - **Gold Standard Lemon Cherry Sherbet 14g:** same farm, fruit and cream, with its parents on paper - **High Grade Farms Gummy Pears 14g:** High Grade Farms' in-house pear-candy hybrid - **High Grade Farms Rizz 14g:** grape candy and berry, with cream on the finish - **Gold Standard Kiwi Kush Mints 14g:** the same farm's other hybrid half ounce --- ### FAQ **Is Blue Taffeze the same as Blue Taffy?** No. Gold Standard grows both names, and nothing on record connects them. **Is it an indica or a sativa?** Gold Standard has not published a classification, so we list it as a hybrid. A New Jersey grower calls its own Blue Taffeze an indica hybrid, and one other California dispensary files Gold Standard's as an indica. **What is the lineage?** Not published by the grower. A Bay Area clone catalog credits the name to Kounter Kulture Genetics, and a New Jersey grower lists its version as Blue Andeze x Blue Zushi. Neither is confirmed for this bag. **What does it taste like?** Unpublished for this cut. The name, and one other grower's notes on its version, point to blueberry candy with a creamy finish. **Why is there so little information?** It is a new name with a small footprint, and Gold Standard has not written it up. We list what is confirmed and say what is not. **How strong is it?** Full-strength greenhouse flower; the tested numbers are on the label. **Where is it grown?** In Gold Standard's own greenhouses in Nevada County, in the Sierra Foothills. --- **Available at Gemme Verdi** 899 Columbus Ave, North Beach, San Francisco gemmeverdi.com [See today's deals at Gemme Verdi](https://www.gemmeverdi.com/san-francisco-cannabis-deals/)
