RSO, short for Rick Simpson Oil, is named for cannabis activist Rick Simpson, who created it when looking for a natural treatment for his skin cancer. The dark, viscous oil is made by extracting the chemical print of the cannabis plant to create a strain-specific, full extract cannabis oil. RSO contains a high percentage of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which produces the high effect many associate with cannabis; because it also contains the full spectrum of cannabis constituents like flavonoids, terpenes, minor cannabinoids, and more for full spectrum benefits, the effects can be enhanced compared to distillate edibles of the same dose. RSO oil can be used a few different ways: dosing sublingually, applying it topically, or even eaten with foods. The dosage varies from patient to patient, though it's always recommended to start with a small dose, half of the size of a rice grain, and increase it as your body builds tolerance.
