Louis XIII keeps its royal appointments somewhere between the pine trees and the gas station. This Southern California OG favorite carries a pungent, earthy profile and a reputation for easing the evening into a slower gear. Its history includes an original OG selection and a separate parentage account associated with commercially grown King Louis.

Origin 1: The original Los Angeles cut is described as a selected phenotype of OG Kush. Maintained through cuttings, it carries the pine, earth, and penetrating Kush aroma associated with that family. This account identifies an individual selection, rather than a fresh cross between two named parents.

Origin 2: Another established King Louis lineage account pairs OG Kush with LA Confidential. That pairing gives the name a second genetic explanation, bringing two California indica-leaning favorites together. Keep this parentage attached to the producer’s identified selection rather than applying it to every jar bearing the royal title.

Sharp pine leads the aroma, followed by damp earth, woody musk, and a peppery Kush finish. Citrus adds a brighter edge beneath the heavier funk. Dense green flowers carry orange pistils and plentiful trichomes, but the nose usually gets the introduction finished before anyone takes a closer look.

Heads in the circle clock an initially happy, euphoric mood that gradually gives more ground to physical relaxation. Sleepiness can follow as the session develops, leaving conversation intact for a while before the replies get shorter. Louis XIII’s most convincing royal decree is usually an early dismissal.
