Sugar

Characterized by the crystallized surface of the wax and its crumbly texture. It is typically a collection of tiny crystals stuck together, having a granular, wet sand-like consistency. Sugars go through the same processes as shatter; the main difference is that sugar is left to purge longer than shatter, giving the concentrate time to nucleate. Sugaring occurs when strains with higher fat contents or hydrophilic terpenes (terpenes that are attracted to & dissolved by water) begin to separate from the cannabinoids during the extraction process. As the trichomes try to return to their original state, they take on the character of glistening sugar granules. Uses: dab rig, vaporizer.
