Strawberry Fields isn't a strain with a colorful backstory — it's four different plants that all happened to grow up under the same name. One's a Vermont folk legend, one's a Cookies-family cross with real lab numbers, and the other two can't even agree on what "Strawberry Fields" is supposed to smell like.

Origin 1: Sagarmatha Seeds' version leans heavily on Strawberry Cough pedigree, but the breeder's own description reads more like a heavier, sedative-leaning phenotype selection of Strawberry Cough than a confirmed second-parent cross — treat the commonly repeated "backcross with an unknown indica" story as reported, not settled.

Origin 2: Crockett Family Farms went a completely different direction, crossing Strawberry Banana with Tangie to build a sativa-dominant cut with citrus riding shotgun over the berry.

Origin 3: The oldest story belongs to an unnamed Vermont breeder who reportedly grew this Nepal indica/sativa landrace hybrid for decades in the same fields as actual strawberry plants, claiming the fruit's scent worked its way into the cannabis itself. A competing account places its origin in Virginia instead, but a separate breeder's inbred stabilization of this same line independently backs Vermont, making that the stronger claim.

Origin 4: A fourth, unrelated version comes from CAM (California Artisanal Medicine), crossing Red Pop with Cookies & Cream. Unlike the other three, this cut has actual lab data behind it — THC tested in the mid-20s across multiple batches, with CBD sitting under 0.1%.

Reviewers report a genuinely different ride depending on which genetics they fired up. Sagarmatha's cut leans into a slow, creeping body calm true to its Strawberry Cough roots. Crockett's citrus-forward version runs lighter and more social, with a head buzz that stays clear rather than heavy. The Vermont landrace is described as mellow and uplifting without much bite, consistent with its old-world hybrid structure. CAM's cross splits the difference, opening with energy and settling into relaxation and an appetite boost as it wears on. Across all four, the one throughline is the fruit itself — fresh berry up front, fading into something earthier by the finish.
