The perfectly balanced strain is the result of crossing Cookies Fam's Gelato and Dying Breed Seeds' Zkittlez. The Runtz Crew, which is made up of three California-based members, includes brand leader Ray Bama, his partner and breeder Nick, and rapper Yung LB. The trio first introduced Candy Runtz, aka Runtz or Runtz OG, at the 2017 Santa Rosa Emerald Cup. After a successful soft premier, they officially launched the strain in the spring of 2018 and watched it quickly grow in popularity and become available all over the world. Candy Runtz is just as eye-catching as it is potent, with dense, colorful nugs, bright orange pistils, and a layer of violet-tinted trichomes. Depending on its growing conditions, the bud can be found in varying colors, including pink, purple, and black.
