Hey Everyone,
Colin here the majority owner of Elevation Delivery. I started this company to make a difference, heres the story of how Elevation Delivery came to be. In late 2008 I was diagnosed with a rare form of Gastrointestinal Cancer. (GIST; Gastrointestinal Stormal Tumnors). I had a series of Gastrointestinal Obstructions that required surgery in a matter of a couple weeks. The first was on Oct 31, the Second was in the second week of Nov. When I woke up from the second surgery on Nov 7 when I woke up in the recovery room to my doctor standing at the foot of my bed, and my mom crying at my bedside I was informed that I had cancer, and that because of the widespread disease the doctors were forced to remove my entire Colon, my entire Large Intestine, and all but less then a foot of my Small Intestine. I didn't know it then but this would be the catylist to where I am now. Due to complications from my surgery on or surgery I spent the next 4 Months in the hospital after going into Septic Shock, and having MRSA get into my bloodstream. When I finally got out of the hospital in the first week of March of 2009 the fist dispensaries were open. I remember the car ride home and passing by a dispensary with a line of people lined up around the block. I am a childhood cancer survivor I had a stroke when I was 18 months old that was caused by a Brain Tumor I was likely born with. I started smoking cannabis when I was 13. At the time I started smoking cannabis (I do not condone Children using Cannabis, or other substances meant for adults). When I started using cannabis to help with the pain associated with having severe, chronic health issues I did not know it when I started using cannabis to help with the pain I was in but on top of having cancer, I also had a rare form of Spina Bifida called "Tethered Cord Syndrome", Crohns Disease the list goes on and on. The Cannabis helped me not only deal with my pain, it helped settle my stomach that was always very sensitive.
I thought back to this time period as I was on my way home and thought to myself "Damn it I could really use a joint right now, I'm sick, I'm in pain, I can't keep anything in my stomach. However I couldn't stop. I couldn't even go get my Med Card so that I even qualified for Medical Cannabis because I was so Immunocompermised. I had Marinol (Syntheic THC) but it didn't help I was in an impossible situation forced to rely on "Big Pharma" to help try and control my nesuea, vomiting, and my pain which wasn't well controlled. Not even a day after I was released from the Hospital I was re-admitted because I spiked a fever, the infection we thought was gone wasn't. I was in the ICU, terrified and alone on Isolation. I called out to "The Universe" and made a promise I guess you can also say I promised myself that if I survived that I would find a way to make a differnce in the lives of people fighting terminal cancer" I didn't know how I would do it but I knew I would find a way. When I finally got out of the hospital and again on the way home passed by the Dispensary with people lined up around the block I thought to myself how bad I needed to smoke a joint. I started to question how it was that Cannabis Delivery wasn't a thing?
I had an idea, and knew that I had to do it, I knew I would do it. I was going to start a Cannabis Delivery Service to bring Cannabis to people who could not physically get to, or go into a dispensary. It took 17 years for regulation to catch up to the needs and wants of consumers. When regulation finally caught up and I remembered back to when I was sick, I remembered the promise I made to "The Universe" (and Myself) I decided to start to pursue the idea, the dream of having a Cannabis Delivery Service. It was with a little determination, and a lot of luck, or maybe with a lot of help from "The Universe" everything fell into place Licenses were obtained, people were met, and meetings were set. I think about it today in awe of the sheer odds of all of what happened to lead you (the reader) to reading about how Elevation came to be. On November 27th 2023 I officially launched operations Partnering with Simply Pure to fulfill their Delivery option. One of the Goals I have with Elevation Delivery is to bring Fee Free Delivery to people fighting a terminal cancer diagnosis. (condtions such as ALS will also qualify for fee free deliveries) here soon I will announce a way for customers to help fund what I call "The Adopt a Patient Program" if you are interested in helping those facing terminal illness please reach out via Phone, Text, or Email.
