Bouket Static Bloom 7G Flower: Hybrid Quarter Ounce at 862 9th Ave, Hell's Kitchen Every winter, Manhattan apartments get so dry that you get a shock off the doorknob. Bouket's Static Bloom has a name that fits that season, and it is a good excuse to talk about the thing that matters most with a quarter ounce: keeping it in good shape. The Bouket Static Bloom 7G Flower is on the shelf at Cannadreams, the licensed dispensary at 862 9th Ave on the corner of West 56th Street in Hell's Kitchen. What we know about Static Bloom Static Bloom is listed as Hybrid on our menu. Beyond that, the public record is thin. The strain does not appear in the major databases, and Bouket has not published its parents, so the lineage is not widely published. We are not going to fill in the blanks with guesses. Judge it by the flower in front of you. The brand Bouket is a New York cannabis label. It takes its name from a piece of Prohibition-era Harlem slang: the company says that in the jazz clubs uptown, "bouquet" meant cannabis. Bouket describes itself as minority-owned and rooted in New York's cannabis history, and its tagline is "Give yourself your flowers." Along with flower, it makes single joints and packs of mini prerolls. Seven grams, two eighths A quarter ounce is 7 grams. That is two eighths in one bag, or roughly seven 1 gram joints. It is a practical size for people who know what they like and want one batch to last a while, without the commitment of a half ounce. Why dry air is the enemy in winter Steam heat in older New York buildings is famously hard to control. Radiators run hot, windows get cracked open in January, and indoor air can get very dry. Flower stored in that air loses moisture quickly. Overly dry buds crumble into dust in the grinder, burn hot and fast, and lose much of their aroma. The fix is simple: an airtight glass jar plus a two-way humidity pack. The pack releases moisture when the air is dry and absorbs it when the air is damp, keeping the jar steady. Replace it when it turns stiff and crunchy. Summer is the opposite problem In July and August, the city is humid, and window units cycle on and off. Flower kept in a loose bag can pick up moisture, feel spongy and burn poorly. Too much moisture over time also invites mold. The same airtight jar and two-way pack handle this season too. Keep the jar away from the air conditioner's drip side and out of direct sunlight. Where in the apartment The best spot is a closet shelf or a cabinet away from the kitchen. Avoid the top of the refrigerator, which is warm, and the inside of the refrigerator, which causes condensation. Avoid windowsills, radiator covers and the bathroom, where showers spike humidity. Handle the buds as little as possible; every touch knocks off a bit of the resin. Signs your flower needs attention Buds that snap instead of bend are too dry. Buds that feel damp or stick together are too wet. A musty smell is a warning sign; if you see fuzzy white or gray spots, do not use it. A clean, distinct aroma and slight springiness when squeezed mean you are in good shape.
