Primitiv Group is a forward-thinking company dedicated to the advancement of cannabis as a form of elevated wellness, believing that the plant holds incredible potential as a healing agent. Primitiv was co-founded by 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Calvin Johnson Jr., and Rob Sims, former NFL teammates that suffered from the long-term physical effects of injuries sustained during their playing careers, and who both turned to cannabis as a form of holistic relief.
Our Vision is to impact the global cannabis industry in a positive way to change the stigma and stereotypes associated with the plant while elevating the professionalism of the industry by producing wellness products.

Primitiv is a member of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association (MiCIA) which advocates for a favorable political policy environment for Cannabis to thrive by promoting sensible laws, regulations and setting industry best practices among members. They are also part of a consortium with the International Phytomedicines Institute at Harvard University, working to expand research and disseminate information on the Health benefits of cannabis on a wide range of medical conditions including chronic pain, mental, and cognitive issues. Primitiv is active in the Homegrown Detroit equity program and serve as advisors for the Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cannabis criminal justice reform.
Primitiv’s flagship dispensary is located at 1286 S. 11th St. in Niles, Michigan, and occupies the space formerly known as Billiard Garden. All guests must be at least 21 years old and have proper identification. Primitiv offers a variety of its coveted pre-rolls and 3.5 gram packages of flower, grown in the group’s Webberville facility, along with other popular brands grown throughout Michigan. In addition to its diverse selection of cannabis products, Primitiv also proudly sells its custom-designed line of branded merchandise including hoodies, hats, t-shirts, rolling papers and lighters. More items are in development and are expected to be released seasonally.
