While other concentrates are extracted using solvents or heat, distillate undergoes a short-path distillation process that strips it of any terpenes, waxes, flavonoids, extra cannabinoids, impurities, or other plant matter. What is left behind is a unique cannabis oil that can reach astounding purity levels. Unlike with other concentrates like wax or shatter, you can always rest assured that your distillate is clean and free of residual solvents. In its purest form (right after extraction), distillate oil is flavorless and odorless. But this doesn’t exactly make for a great vaping experience. So, most distillates are infused with extra terpenes for flavor. Oftentimes distillate is infused with strain-specific terpenes in order to give it the flavor or a specific strain.
