Philo Skunk / Gokunk is a Somango x Mazar hybrid. These two strains were previously crossed with Skunk. The result clearly retains all the qualities of the Skunk family while improving yields and vigor.
Cultivation of Philo Skunk
Suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation.
It is develops vigorous but needs tutors or meshes from the third or fourth week into flowering (12/12) to support the weight of its heavy buds.
The ideal number of plants for using the SOG technique is 20-25 plants/m2, with a growth period of three weeks. On the other hand, if the SCROG method is used we recommend 9-15 plants per m2, with a growth period of three to five weeks.
Easy to grow, it is a variety that does not require special care.
Outdoors, this plant grows huge and can easily exceed two meters in height.
Taste and effects
The most outstanding and distinctive trait of this cannabis strain is undoubtedly its taste and aroma, which are sweet and fruity, typical of Skunk genetics. The flavor reminds of noble wood as the drying and curing process advances.

Our team of collaborators also includes other breeders, as is the case of our Classic Line, reliable professionals who have helped us to keep the first strains developed by the seed bank.
Philosopher Seeds are currently developing new genetics from clones and seeds brought from the USA, also strains rich in other cannabinoids than THC and CBD. We can't wait to see the results of these projects!

Skunk #1, also referred to as the Original Skunk #1, is a cultivar created by David Watson -- also known as Sam the Skunkman -- that serves as the genetic backbone for many of today’s cannabis strains.
Sources trace its origins to 1970’s California. It’s present in countless crossbreeds, and is a descendant of an Afghani landrace strain crossed with Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold.
Refining his crops over many years, Sam the Skunkman selected phenotypes with the best yields, early flowering times and dense, resinous buds. It was one of the first well-known indoor cannabis varieties, and won several awards, including 1st place at the inaugural High Times Cannabis Cup in 1988.
