Not to be confused with OG Strawberry this THC powerhouse regularly tests 28-31% THC and packs a cerebral wallop! A bit nutty with berry/tree fruit overtones this is one of the most potent strains currently in production here at Oregon Roots. Lime green buds with dark orange pistils and small pops of purple are what to expect with this “Kush” dominant strain.

Strawberry Kush
hybrid
THC: 9-23%
Strawberry OG Kush isn't a verified catalog strain — it's almost always Strawberry Kush with a menu makeover. Dispensaries love to bolt OG into the name, but the Kush parent was already there. Multiple breeders have worked versions of this cross, and depending on whose jar you're holding, you'll get a slightly different read.

Origin 1: Strawberry OG Kush by White Label/Sensi Seeds

Sensi put this (Strawberry Cough x OG Kush) out in the early 2000s by pairing Strawberry Cough's sweet berry top notes with OG Kush's pine-diesel backbone. Originally clone-only, feminized seeds later spread the cut with some phenotype variation — pink pistils on a few, seven to 10 week flowering, but consistent dense buds. Flavor leans strawberry-citrus on the inhale, Kush funk and diesel on the exhale. Smokers say it balances body relaxation with a functional lift, making it more mood-elevating than couch-gluing.

Origin 2: Strawberry OG Kush by Royal Dutch Genetics

Less documented, but marketed as fruity and spicy with a mellow stone (OG Kush x Cali Indica). Listed as 60% indica, eight-to-nine week flower, with a branchy structure and solid yields. The effects are described as a warm physical stone with a smooth, mellow, high — more straightforward Kush than the berry-heavy White Label cut.

Origin 3: Strawberry OG Kush by Kind Seed Co.

Essentially, White Label's recipe under another flag. Strawberry Cough x OG Kush is marketed as beginner-friendly with ~23% THC and balanced effects. Growers describe short, wide plants that need pruning and LST. The smoke is berry-forward with Kush depth, and the high lands somewhere between cerebral lift and body melt.

Some growers credit writer and cannabis activist Kyle Kushman with helping popularize Strawberry Kush, fitting since he's the one who turned Strawberry Cough into a global cult cut. While he never confirmed breeding this cross himself, his influence looms large over its reputation.

Whether it's Sensi, Royal Dutch, or Kind Seed stock, the throughline stays the same: sweet berry smoke laid over a Kush backbone.

If you see Strawberry OG Kush on a menu, odds are it's just Strawberry Kush dressed up with extra letters — but it still delivers that mix of fruit and fuel people expect.
