At Moon Valley Cannabis we cultivate indoor cannabis as sustainable as possible with the least amount of impact on the environment. The term No-Till means we do not till or disturb our soil, and our soil is reused indefinitely. By creating our soil inputs onsite, such as compost and Natural Farming Preparations, as well as cultivating other beneficial plants in conjunction with our cannabis, we are creating a symbiotic ecosystem for plants and the biology that makes up the living soil food web to thrive in. Our soil is filled with worms and other beneficial macro and micro organisms. Healthy soil is capable of growing healthy cannabis that is incredibly smooth to smoke. No harsh chemicals or fertilizers are ever used in our cultivation. We reclaim and filter 100% of our facility HVAC condensate which serves as our only water source for our solvent less concentrate lab and also gets watered back into our garden. Our power source is delivered from Sonoma Clean power, providing us with 100% renewable energy. We designed and built our facility with sustainability at the forefront and we go the extra mile for our love of the plant, planet and high quality cannabis.

Gelato is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, named in homage to its sweet aroma. Also known as Larry Bird, Gelato (#33) was first cultivated in Northern California's Bay Area and is derived from a deep bank of genetics created by the Cookie Family, the Sherbinskis family, and cultivator Mario Guzman.

The cultivators parted ways following its creation, and the cultivator who possesses the most “stable version” of Gelato genetics is up for debate. Cookies cultivates a few phenotypes and descendants of the strain named Gelato #42, Dolce Gelato, and a sun-grown Gelato. Sherbinskis grows four stabilized Gelato phenotypes in its rotation as well: Gelato #41 (Bacio Gelato), Gelato #43 (Gello Gelato), Gelato #47 (Mochi Gelato), and Gelato #49 (Acai Berry Gelato). Per Sherbinskis, the #33 phenotype is no longer in cultivation.
