GOOD BUDS is a family-run cannabis farm on Salt Spring Island, BC. Brothers Tyler and Alex Rumi started the company with one idea: grow cannabis the way it should be grown — in living soil, under the sun, on a farm that takes care of the land it uses.
In 2019, GOOD BUDS became Canada's first licensed outdoor cannabis cultivation facility. That wasn't an accident. It was the plan from day one.
How we grow
Everything starts with soil. Our raised living soil beds are reused every cycle, amended between harvests, and fed with pure rainwater. No synthetic nutrients. No single-use grow media. The same soil that grew our first outdoor harvest is still producing cannabis today — and it keeps getting better.
We're FVOPA Certified Organic — one of the few cannabis producers in Canada to hold this certification.
Our outdoor crops grow under full sun on Salt Spring Island's coast. Our indoor production follows the same living soil approach, in small micro-lot batches. Two methods, the same philosophy.
Plants are hand-harvested, whole-plant hang-dried, and hand-bucked before trimming. We take our time with post-harvest. It shows in the bag.
What we grow
We've built our portfolio around a small number of house strains, developed and refined over multiple seasons.
Gluerangutan is our outdoor flagship. It came out of a pheno-hunt of 150,000 plants in 2019 and has been backcrossed three times since. Lineage: OG Kush × GG4 × Afghani Hash Plant. The terpene profile is caryophyllene-dominant with a strong supporting cast of humulene, limonene, and linalool — consistently 3.555% total terpenes across lots. Spicy, woody, and earthy with citrus underneath. Available in 7g flower, pre-rolls (7×0.5g and 1×1g), cured resin AIO vape, live resin 510 cart, and live rosin AIO.
Mango Cake is our indoor strain. It consistently hits in the 30–32% range. We bred it ourselves: Mango Taffie (LA Affie × Hawaiian, a GOOD BUDS original) × Wedding Cake. What makes it stand out, beyond the tropical sweet mango terpenes, is an unusually high CBG content, typically running around 3%. Tropical and fresh on the nose. Available in 3.5g and 7g flower, pre-rolls, cured resin AIO vape, and live resin 510 cart.
Timewarp is a BC heirloom — a Texada Timewarp base with a California cross. Myrcene-dominant with linalool, caryophyllene, and bisabolol. One of the few certified organic outdoor sativas available in Canada. Available in flower and pre-rolls, with a live resin 510 cart coming soon.
