Mexican cannabis landraces grow in the region’s wide variety of climates, from desert regions to mountainous terrain. The higher elevation of Mexico’s mountains produces sativa-characteristic landrace strains, the most famous of which being Acapulco Gold. Typically, Mexican landraces form into elongated, spindly nuggets with loose, fluffy leaves covered in orange hairs. Exposure to cold air adds blue and purple hues to the buds’ leaves. Consumers report an earthy, mud-like odor with an added layer of skunk and peppery finish.
