ATTN: Shade of Green NEEDS your help in their fight against local Santa Clara authorities. Below is a copy of the newsletter we sent to current members explaining our situation and providing information with how they can help us out. Thank you for your interest in Shade of Green we hope to be back up and running real soon. If you are not yet a member then please go read our reviews. We have the best greatest group of members and they show their love with those reviews. Shade of Green Status Update: Dear Members of the Shade of Green Collective, As some of you may already know and many probably don't, on January 27th, the local Santa Clara authorities came to our establishment and have put a temporary halt to all our operations, as well as illegally seizing all of our medicine and petty cash. Currently, both managing and contributing members are facing multiple charges of violating Federal laws in regards to sales of marijuana. We are working diligently with our attorneys and fighting this situation with literally everything we have. Obviously, this is just another attempt to cripple yet another legitimate Collective in hopes that after we have gone through litigation, we will be so financially downtrodden, that we will be unable to function, let alone survive. This is basically just a repeat of what happened back in October 2010 as a so-called "coincidental" precursor to the elections and pro-marijuana bill that was rapidly gaining support. For those who don't know, despite what President Obama promised, several Santa Clara County delivery services and Collectives were arbitrarily targeted by the Santa Clara County Special Enforcement Team (SCCSET) facilitating illegal raids and stings. Almost all charges without exception were dropped in those stings, however, due to a Federal loophole, local authorities refused to give back seized medicine and because of that and all the attorney fees, those Collectives were left severely affected and many were left so badly handicapped, they were unable to continue on. Thankfully, we have received a lot of uplifting and motivating news in our fight for defending ourselves and the Collective, but that fact remains that we will be taking a huge medicinal and financial hit. What the future holds for Shade of Green has yet to be determined, but our primary focus has been to reopen as soon as humanly possible, and be there for all of our members who have supported and stood by us for so long. Please note that your scans of yours California ID's and Recommendations are completely safe and have not been taken by the authorities. Our website is completely locked down and safer than even most Government sites. Also, in the above mentioned instances of raids, it was made clear that they are not after patients, simply the directors and managing members of Collectives, as well as some of their contributing staff. We know this email has been vague in regards to the details of the current legal situation, so if you have any questions about what is going on please email us at: info@shadeofgreencollective.org We want to hear from all the members and if there are any worries or concerns what-so-ever, we will happily answer any questions to the best of our abilities. Please note that currently all phone lines are inactive for the Collective, but we will be replying to emails regularly. If you feel you are able and willing to help, we would greatly appreciate all the help we can get. We have been told that letters of support from the member base can go a long way in showing exactly what type of people we are and what we are not. Any members who feel comfortable helping us out with a character letter please contact us using the email above. We are also considering drafting a petition with member signatures to the City of Santa Clara to let us continue to operate legally. We are also accepting donations to help cover our legal fees. We hate to ask our members for financial support during these economic times because we know everyone is going through it, but again, any help is greatly appreciated. We need to raise roughly $25,000+ to cover our legal fees of the Collective, and any overhead expenses as a result of the downtime we suffer. Every dollar helps us immensely! Also, please be aware that we want to give back every dollar that is donated to us. We will keep track of who donates what with the hopes that after re-opening we will be able to return the generosity. In order to make a donation to saving Shade of Green, please go to the following website. https://www.wepay.com/donations/save-shade-of-green On behalf of all the working members of Shade of Green we'd like to extend a huge thank you to every one of our members. The experience of being a medicinal provider has been a humbling one and it wouldn't have been possible without such an awesome group of members. You are what makes Shade of Green regarded so highly and we can never thank you enough for that. We hope to see you all in the near future.
