'Jackie Brown' - Netflix
What is it?
Quentin Tarantino's 1997 follow-up to “Pulp Fiction,” this meandering, dialogue-heavy heist movie has the director's typical knack for vibrant characters and killer camera work in spades, as well as an underrated ensemble cast which includes Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert DeNiro, and Michael Keaton.

Much like Tarantino's latest film, the equally stoney “Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood,” “Jackie Brown” is the brash, busy director at his warmest and breeziest, fostering a “hangout” vibe throughout the movie, only magnified by the fact that about 80% of Robert DeNiro's screen time in this movie sees him hitting a bong with Bridget Fonda. If there's a stoner movie in Tarantino's filmography, “Jackie Brown” is it.

'Groundhog Day' - Netflix
What is it?
The classic '90s Bill Murray vehicle, which casts our favorite comedian-turned-pop-culture-buddha as a weatherman who gets trapped in a time loop where he relives the same day over and over.

If you haven't seen “Groundhog Day” before, now you know why you've heard stoners ruminate on it in your various sesh circles. “Groundhog Day” is not only Murray at his funniest, but the movie rides a “high thoughts”-style concept to an incredibly entertaining and moving degree.

The new season of Netflix's other prestige '80s period piece, this one focused on a ragtag group of female wrestlers as they move their burgeoning production from TV in California to a live show in Las Vegas.
Why Watch High?
There's a lot of '80s and '90s nostalgia going on right now, and much of it is very fun to experience high. “GLOW” provides the stoned viewer with all the psychotropic, mental-time-traveling pleasures of a well-executed '80s nostaligia trip, only with the added bonus of the type of top-notch writing and acting you've come to expect from prestige TV shows.

'Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling' - Netflix
What is it?
A reboot special of the '90s Nickelodeon staple, which sees Rocko and his friends return to their hometown after being lost in space for 25 years, catching up on what 2010s life is like for a bunch of '90s cartoon characters.
Why Watch High?
Whether or not this millennial '90s nostalgia-generated piece of streaming content justifies its own existence is yet to be seen. But since cartoons are really great to watch while stoned, and “Rocko's Modern Life” was a pretty lit show back in the day, we recommend toking up and giving this one a shot.

Harmony Korine's new stoner comedy starring Matthew McConaughey (operating at his alright, alright, alrightiest) as Moondog, a nomadic, Dude-esque celebrity poet on a hedonistic odyssey through the Florida Keys.

Simply put, “The Beach Bum” is a new stoner classic. Put it on your streaming queue right next to Cheech & Chong's “Up in Smoke,” “Dazed and Confused,” and “The Big Lebowski,” and you won't skip a beat. Plus, the Florida Keys setting makes for ideal stoned summer viewing.

Aquaman - HBO
What is it?
The 2018 superhero smash hit that revived DC's movie franchise, starring the beloved Jason Momoa as the titular hero, who no one expected to ever become this cool or this sexy.

Back in February 2019, we included “Aquaman” in our 2019 Stoned Oscars list, giving it the award for dankest visual effects. Though left out of the visual effects category for the real Oscars completely, “Aquaman” set itself apart from pretty much every other computer graphics (CG)-heavy blockbuster in 2018 with danker, more groundbreaking effects and visuals that anyone under the influence is sure to revel in.

'Mission: Impossible — Fallout' - Amazon and Hulu
What is it?
This time around in the uber-popular fifth entry in Tom Cruise's wild, stunt-heavy spy franchise, Cruise skydives, flies helicopters through canyons, and runs, extensively (as is his wont) and jumps across buildings. He also goes head to head with a gorgeously mustachioed Henry Cavill at the “Superman” actor's most villainous and most charismatic.
Why Watch High?
Listen — you can either watch Tom Cruise risk his life doing crazy shit stone cold sober, or you can take an edible and let the batshit spectacle made hypnotizing by director Christopher McQuarrie's pristine visual approach to the action wash over you in a dank, dizzying haze. The first option is fine. The second is your mission, should you choose to accept it.
