If left undisturbed in nature, anthers will release pollen grains into the air. If the cannabis plant is being used for breeding purposes, the pollen can be collected from the anthers and applied to female cannabis plants to produce a cross of those two strains.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe <\/span><\/i><b><i>anthers<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were full of fertilizing pollen.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere were multiple <\/span><\/i><b><i>anthers<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the end of the stalk's filament, which resembled a bunch of bananas.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wm-article-table-of-contents-header\" id=\"what-is-the-anther-of-a-flower\">\n\tWhat is the anther of a flower?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The anther of a flower comprises the part of the stamen where pollen is produced. The pod-like anther is attached to the stamen which presents as a slender filament. Most plants have about half a dozen anthers encircling the flower's center. Subsequent to graduating high school, Snic enrolled in The Appalachian Center for Crafts in Tennessee, where he focused his study on hot glass, and at which he was first introduced to metal electroplating; he also went on to pursue advanced education at the Corning Museum of Glass. In the years to follow, Snic garnered acclaim for both his unique aesthetic style and his technical explorations as he became a pioneer of mixed media pipes.
