Founder, Dr. Corey Jaquez is a pioneer when it comes to Connecticut’s medical cannabis program. Not only was Dr. Jaquez one of the first physicians to register with the state in 2012, one of his patients was also among the first approved for medical marijuana in CT! Legendary stuff! Dr. Corey Jaquez is a nationally board certified physician, trained in Family Medicine. During residency in Louisville, he forged his way and discovered his passion for Preventative Medicine and refined his holistic approach to treating patients with debilitating medical conditions. He has become the leading doctor for evaluating cannabis patients in CT.

Dr. Jaquez has demonstrated his passion for alternative medicine and remains sympathetic towards those with conditions he feels should be on the list. He has seen first hand how patients have benefited from the marijuana program, are able to get their lives back on track, and decrease the amount of medication required to manage their symptoms.

Dr Jaquez was featured on CT Fox 61 News in a spotlight “Medical Marijuana Requests on the Rise” in 2014 shortly after medical marijuana prescriptions were made available in Connecticut. Then, spoke candidly of the trials and tribulations of the medical cannabis industry. No doubt, it has come a long way since inception in 2012; with only 12 qualifying conditions back then. The cannabis industry has evolved to include 22 debilitating conditions as of 2018, and the addition of minors. But, there is still room for improvement. Dr. Corey Jaquez knows it’s imperative to keep up with news on growers, dispensaries and patient conditions. He is hopeful that soon, chronic pain and mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia will become qualifying diagnoses. As it stands, you can be certified for medical marijuana in CT if you have PTSD, cancer, terminal illness/end of life care, HIV, AIDS, inflammatory bowel disease, glaucoma, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, epilepsy, seizure disorder, post laminectomy syndrome, radiculopathy, and spinal stenosis, to name a few.
