Dr. Sona Patel studied medicine at University of California Irvine, earning her medical doctorate in 2002 and starting her own practice in 2005. Patients with whom she had been working since her residency kept requesting medical cannabis, and she acquiesced, wanting to go the extra mile to help them. She did not believe in its medicinal power until she observed the radical improvements in her patients’ results. Her patients with diabetes saw improvements in blood sugar levels that surpassed regular prescriptions, high blood pressure patients saw a dramatic decrease in levels, and those with chronic pain regained their mobility and wellness. Witnessing this medical potential first-hand, Dr. Patel began offering referrals in her home in Hollywood, until the lines forming around the block tipped off her landlord and she was evicted. She then founded DOC420, and since 2005 has helped over 250,000 patients by offering medical marijuana evaluations.
Over the last decade, Dr. Patel has seen patients with terminal cancer year after year for renewals and witnesses their cancer improving. In patients with seizures, cannabis has played a huge part in getting them off their seizure medication and improving their quality of life. Seeing wonder upon wonder in her patients has reaffirmed her passionate advocacy for medical marijuana, and DOC420 makes it simple to be seen for a recommendation. Dr. Patel and her partner, Dr. Glassberg, frequently talk with the California Medical board to ensure compliance, and she gained notoriety when she did the Kardashians’ recommendation on their reality show, making the front page of the LA Times. Dr. Patel strives to be the face of advocacy and is willing to go (and has gone) to court for all of her patients.
Consultations are free at DOC420-if you do not qualify, you do not pay. DOC420 also offers discounts to veterans, patients with hardships, and seniors, as well as a discount for returning patients. Follow-up questions are answered by phone, in person, or anytime by email. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are scheduled over the phone. DOC420 also offers an express program where you can pay an additional $25 to be seen immediately.

Was in a rush at lunch time so I decided to pay the $25 fee which they told me about at the reception desk. Definitely worth it, and back at work on time. Will recommend to others!
The office isn't something you would expect but it was a nice change. Went in with a price match which they accepted. Walked out with my card in an hour
Saw them on TV and figured that's a good as reason as any to chose them over the others in the area. Was not disappointed with the care. Walked out with me card and overall took about an hour
I was in and out quickly and paperwork was very clear to fill out. Nice office, not what you'd expect from seeing the outside
I think they recently remodeled the place, it was nice and clean and looked new. Employee was very friendly as well. Parking was a little hard but not impossible
Can't beat the price of this place, well if you do find it cheaper it's probably some scary ass hole in the wall. Either way the staff were good and the place is nice.
Awesome looking office and fast processing. Was planning to pay the $25 but didn't need to this time around.
Sometimes a wait so call ahead to see how busy they are. The waiting room is nice if you can't call to check. Everything else is above average
