Dr. Brubaker and his practice strive to be a general practice clinic of the highest level of quality, professionalism and compassion for patients all along the gamut of symptoms. Their clean clinic is welcoming and inclusive, and Dr. Brubaker excels at identifying and solving medical problems, helping thousands of patients throughout his practice
Dr. Brubaker achieved his Doctorate in 1974 from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, served his residency for four years in Pathology, and has practiced medicine for over 42 years. He worked in Medical Academia for over twenty years, teaching residents, students, interns, and supervising research at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center, the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, and UCLA-Harbor Medical Center, an affiliate of UCLA. Dr. Brubaker has also published works in scientific journals, medical periodicals, medical textbooks, and more. In 2004, Dr. Brubaker began to investigate the truth about pain and pain medication after several of his patients asked him to look into medical cannabis recommendations as an alternative to narcotics. He then dove into the research and has provided recommendations at his general practice clinic ever since, the first doctor in Fresno to do so.
Dr. Brubaker’s private practice, Muscular Skeletal Medical Associates, is a general practice institution that treats patients for a variety of ailments in addition to providing medical cannabis recommendations. They are a high-quality professional clinic and work with the understanding that cannabis is not the best treatment for every patient. However, Dr. Brubaker refuses to prescribe narcotics, citing the dozens of deaths caused by prescription drugs every year (none for medical cannabis) as his primary reasoning. Dr. Brubaker and Muscular Skeletal Medical Associates perform a complete medical exam on each new patient, spending time educating each patient on the variety of treatments available and discussing which is the best course.
Muscular Skeletal Medical Associates is based in Fresno, California, nestled in the heart of central California, they are proud to serve the Fresno, Clovis, Dinuba, Greenly, Coarsegold, Merced, Mariposa, Senora, Oakhurst, Hanford, and Visalia locations.
As a general practice clinic, Muscular Skeletal Medical Associates is proud to offer treatments for a wide range of symptoms, including ultrasound, physical therapy (soft tissue techniques and joint injections), medication, and more. They accept insurance for regular, non-cannabis related visits. Though they currently do not accept insurance for medicinal marijuana evaluations, they do offer a discount for returning patients. Follow-up questions are available by phone, and patients may schedule appointments s or call and ask about walk-ins.

I was initially very nervous going in to get my recommendation as it was my first time. My worries were soon put to rest when I noticed how friendly both the staff and doctor are. I explained my symptoms to Dr. Brubaker, and after a brief exam, he wrote out my recommendation. He even advised me on the best type of cannabis for my condition and gave me a list of dispensaries in the area. I will definitely return next year for my renewal!

One of the most hypocritical Doctors out there, says one thing, out of one side of his mouth and another out of the other. Not to mention the extremely rude staff. He doesn't care about you or anything other than the money you give him only to be stuffed right in his pocket. Also, if frustrated by the number of patients he has to see, he likes to throw temper tantrums and throw things like staplers against a wall. I know from experience after asking a simple question, needless to say, that was the last time I saw him or recommended him to anyone. Not only that, his prices for recommendations really reflect his greed. Go elsewhere.
grest doc, hes professional and personable. taught me lots of new stuff about my condition and answered all my questions. check him out
I was nervous when I had scheduled the appointment as it would be my first time becoming a Medical Marijuana patient and I was without knowledge of how the appointment would go. Any nervousness that I had built up quickly dissipated however, as the transition into becoming a M.M patient was done professionally and with ease by Dr. Brubaker and his staff. I do plan to renew my license by this same Doctor when renewal is required.
