About Us

Rainier On Pine is now Xanders a recreational store serving the public 21+ years of age. Carrying edibles, drinks, sublinguals, waxes, oils, joints, and good old fashion loose bud!   Rainier On Pine was the first store to open in Tacoma ending prohibition in our city after 70+ years. Whether you're visiting our state from home or looking for your new local pot stop, please be sure to stop in and check us out!   **We accept any VALID ID from ANY US Territory** **Only Paper ID accepted is from Washington State; no out of state paper ID or ID renewal printout will be accepted** **You will have to remove your ID from your wallet for entrance and for purchase and no obstructed information on the ID will be accepted as valid**

After being medical for years, Rainier Wellness crossed over to the Washington recreational market in the middle of 2014. The changes in laws and introduction of the new industry being accepted by the state has inspired us to be a part of a road being paved for an industry that will surely change our country with the marijuana law reform that everybody has been waiting for! One step or state at a time!   By I502 law, a retail outlet such as us has to follow different rules than what some medical patients may be used to. Please read the following to understand what may differ if you are used to a medical market:   - Washington State Liquor Control Board restricts recreational retail outlets from openly discussing the medical applications of cannabis. This is not to dispute medical applications, but to clearly state that we are not physicians and should not be diagnosing medical issues or prescribing medication for issues you may be dealing with. If you have medicinal interests, we encourage you to do research through SCLabs.com and come to the store with a general idea of what you will need so our staff will not be in a position to risk medical talk beyond their permissions.   - Washington State Liquor Control Board restricts the opening of packages on our property. The recreational cannabis world in Washington is regulated by the Washington State Liquor Control Board and many of the types of laws and procedures you see in alcohol stores apply here as well; including open packages.   - Washington State Liquor Control Board restricts retail outlets (such as ourselves) from being affiliated with any of the producers and processors of the cannabis. What this means is that we can't grow or make our own cannabis products for you. So when you try something off our shelf, we didn't grow it, package it, or weight it. If the product isn't good or has a problem, please let our managing staff know. We take feedback very seriously and will gladly consider these reviews as they stack up when we need to decide who stays on our shelves. With that said, we don't have any biased opinion or incentive to sell you one thing over another. We just want to make sure you leave with the right product for you.   Please come visit us and we'll teach you anything regarding the new laws or cannabis if you have questions or concerns. If there's not much curiosity and more of a need, we'll find you the right bud for your day and send you off with a smile! We'll see you soon!! Good people at front desk, WEIGHT YOUR PRODUCT

1 person thought this review was helpful

I have been going to Rainier on pine now for a few months. I don't frequent anywhere else and so far I have been pretty happy except the price which they can't really control too much with the LCB nazi's trying to tax every single step in the process... my issue is with quality control, both on their end and on their farmers end. For example:

Today I went in and bought a Forte Farms "Kronic Stick" which was labeled as one gram. Pulled it out of the container its half the size of normal 1g cones. I figure what the heck, maybe they just wrapped it too tight. Stuck it on my scale and sure enough, just under .5grams.

In the past this has happened multiple times with multiple farms prodcuts. You buy a "gram" or 2 gram packs and when you weight it out, its actually under by a pretty heft amount. One of the worst offenders of this was Rootz Down farms, I would regularly buy a gram container open it up to find .5 grams in sticks with little to no actual bud, and .5 grams of a bud with actual flower on it.

While I do not put the blame on the company Rainier, it HAS to affect their overall score because I can't rate the farmers. If they choose to continue to do business with these so called farmers then they are responsible for the product just as much as the grower.

Rainier on pine, you have been a class act in almost every other regard. It's time to put a stop to your farmers ripping off your customers even with a sign that reads "all sales are final" because in the end, if this continues and more and more people start catching on, the only sales that will be final will be black market sales because after LCB guts the Medical Industry people aren't going to have anywhere else to get reliable cannabis.

I am sorry if I seem pissed, but I drive a damn hour every week to come to this place I expect when I leave I at LEAST get what the hell I paid for.

First time trip: Very personable and patient

2 people thought this review was helpful

I went into Rainier On Pine with little to no knowledge about Indica, sativa, edibles, and extracts. I am OLD school, there was not a choice in type or % of THC when I would buy my bud; I would call a friend, who knew a guy, who could get me some from.

I walked into a busy little place, the security guard was nice and as I walked in and was pointed in the right direction I saw all the different things they had. I was about the forth. person in line. there were two people working at the counter to assist the customers, There was a young lady and a gentleman, the gentleman saw me walk in and he was on top of greeting each person that walked In, "hello, welcome in, and we will be with you shortly, grab a menu and we can assist you if youth have any questions" while I waited..looking. at a menue, I debated in my mind what to do. I had no idea about all the different things available. As I watched the people in front of me being assisted with there purchases, I felt even more uneasy, they were ordering, looking, and picking what they wanted in a very prompt manner. My mind was racing.

Then I hear the gentleman "Hi, come on over, How are you today?"

I looked at him and said "I have no idea what to purchase, I never had a choice before like this"

The gentleman introduced himself as "John" and that he could answer any of my questions and assist me in getting a product I would be happy with.

I put down the menu and just told him that I wanted to try a couple different things, just no clue what.

John was awesome, He asked detailed questions and then he grabbed four different types of product and started explaining about them, what was different, and in the end, I allowed him to choose what I should try. I felt bad as I was taking a lot of time and there was a line, he noticed I was looking a bit uncomfortable and told me not to worry about it, he was there to assist me and that some people take a second and others take longer.

I felt very at ease at that point.

I have done customer service for twenty plus years and you do not find many like John. John took the opportunity to insure I had a good experience, he popped my Cherry on purchasing from a store.

I spent quiet a bit that day and not one cent do I regret. The products did exactly what John said they would. needless to say John is my go to man.

I make a point of only going to purchase my treats when he is working, I have been going for several months now, and on two occasions he was already off the counter and ending his day, yet he still came and helped me to pick what to buy.

That goes above and beyond in my book, no one made him do this, he did it because he cares about the customer's and wants to ensure they are happy with what they get.

My suggestion to anyone going to Rainer On Pine, ask for John, He is OLD school and new school with huge amounts of knowledge. Do not assume that because he is tattooed rugged man, that he is not personable. HE in the main reason I won't go to any other store, even though there are ones closer to me, because I get the best at Rainer On Pine.

Thank you John, for helping, greeting, and making my overwhelming first visit so awesome, and every single visit since!!!

LASTLY: I read a review that bad mouthed him, Saud he had no personable abilities and so on and so forth, my response to that customer.........your review sounded like you just wanted to bash the man because he was not some young chick. John always greets people that walk in, I have never heard anyone else do that, You should not judge a book by its cover. Maybe it was your perception of him, maybe you want a young chick to purchase from but, you should watch how you speak about others. You complaining about Him, just shows your negative manner and that you don't see the good in much.

I for one, will continue to send my personal friends to see JOHN and only him. I know he will treat them as they treat him, with respect for what he is doing and that he is patient with OLD AND NEW SCHOOL customers.

With that said, I will be back on Monday to have John do what he does best,.................listens to what I am looking for at the time and picks out the best looking bud for me and EVERY one of the people I sent to see him.

Keep up the good work John!!!!!!!

Loser operation...it ain't all about the bud...

Last evening I stopped in to Rainier on Pine's sister store, Rainier Downtown, looking for a specific strain. I had been there once and overall the experience was pretty great, but last evening they didn't have the strain I wanted in stock. Surprisingly, they offered to phone Rainier on Pine, as they were fairly certain that the strain I wanted was in stock at their other store. I thought that was pretty cool, that they were willing to sacrifice a sale in order to make their customer happy. The lady trying to help me called on the spot, from her own personal cell phone and was told by Rainier on Pine that they were out of the strain. The lady then thanked the person on the other line, and told me they said they were out. She was pissed, as she was certain that they in fact did have it in stock, and had seen it on their shelves just yesterday morning. Apparently there is some sort of pissing match happening between the two Rainier stores, and despite the stellar efforts on Rainier Downtown's part, Rainier on Pine was just not interested in accommodating a potential customer.

I have lived in this area all of my life, and have worked with the public for over 30 years...in short, I know a ton of people around town. Additionally, I smoke a good amount of weed, and refer my fellow puffers accordingly. When I receive excellent customer service at any business, I always send people I know to those businesses that go the extra mile to assist their customers, in addition to being loyal to the establishments that I frequent. The ladies at Rainier Downtown went above and beyond to try to make me happy, even if it meant that they would lose my purchase to another vendor. They were positive that the strain I wanted was in stock over at Rainier on Pine, and they were blown away that Rainier on Pine lied and would throw away an opportunity to impress a new customer and make some bank. Rainier Downtown's staff were very friendly and really tried to help, so much so that I made an impulse purchase of a gram of Royal Tree Garden's Dutch Treat, just because. I'll be writing a very positive review for them shortly.

As for Rainier on Pine, even if they had the strain I wanted at half the cost, I will not be shopping there. I gave them 4 stars for their bud, based on the perception that they "might" have had it, but obviously they are not very accessible, and apparently their staff are not overly friendly either. I was previously on the fence about whether or not to go visit them due to questionable pricing and their rather snarky comments to customer reviews, but last night that decision was made for me by Rainier on Pine's ambivalence, along with their lack of desire to recruit some new business.

Marketing and retailing of legal marijuana is still in the fairly early stages of development, and opportunities to establish credibility within the community are limitless...if a business is wise, has a terrific product and believes in the product they are selling, and truly wants to serve their customers. Turning away potential clients whether it be for a grudge against the person requesting help on the part of a buyer or for sheer laziness is unacceptable to me, and is really contrary to what I perceive is the very spirit of the industry. Rainier Downtown, I'll be back next week to purchase an 8th of the promised strain, and y'all rock! Rainier on Pine, I'm not really very sorry you decided for whatever reason I wasn't worth your time, but you probably don't need an extra 100 bucks a month from me anyway. Good luck with that approach in T-Town.

Waste of my money

1 person thought this review was helpful

Went in the other day, bought a few chocolates & a few brownies . There happened to be a man inside and he asked if it was my first time in here, I told him yes it was. Then he asked if it was my first time with edibles , again I told him yes. He informed me I was in for a treat. Also that I should start off with half then after awhile eat the rest. I agreed . Later that day I decided to eat one.. Nothing worked. So I ate another one, and a chocolate. Still nothing happened. I spent too much money on these things to be disappointed . Other than that the place was friendly and as were everyone inside. Probably wont be back though, unless they get stronger edibles.

We are so sorry the edibles didn't work for you. Unfortunately, the Liquor Control Board had mandated that a serving size be no more than 10mg per serving and wrapped individually. Many of the processors have chosen to sell their products in single serving quantities. Also, every person's tolerance is different. We have many other products we would love for you to try! Hope to see you again and we appreciate your review.

Night time is the best time

1 person thought this review was helpful

Just stopped in here tonight 3/30/2015 right after 9pm. Best customer service ever from these guys. I was helped by Bryan tonight and he is a shining example of what good customer service is. So is the blond girl that works during the day time. I seriously cannot say enough good things about these two.

If you go here, seriously wait to talk to Bryan, even if another cashier is open lol. He will tell you all about the bud and why it does what it does and the different chemicals in bud and what they do and why they do them lol.

He took the time to explain everything about the different types of bud/products they have. Seriously a nice guy and very knowledgeable and even shook my hand when I left lol. I felt bad because I should have left him a tip and always forget about doing it at the end of the transaction lol. Next time Bryan, I will hit you up with a tip for sure ;)

The only negative I have about this place is most of their grams were $19+ which is still on the high side. On the positive side, they usually always have at least one strain that is $14-$16ish per gram. However I did not get their cheaper ones today because Bryan did such an amazing job at explaining some of the other ones.

I wish they had the Blueberry from Noble farms still. That bud was seriously good and it was cheap considering the average prices at any of these recreational stores. I think the thing that this store and others needs to voice to their suppliers is not only the prices need to continue to come down but a consistent supply would be most appreciated. I feel like I can never really get into a strain I like because the next day it's always sold out.

Calypso Rose and more ...

2 people thought this review was helpful

Hey B - I can't remember now (now that I've sampled all three strains I picked up!) if we figured out what family PNW Calypso Rose was in or not. For me it acts like a nice sativa dominant hybrid. It is very smooth to smoke and a smooth effect. Loved PNW Dutch Treat! And RD Super Lemon Haze ... well that's what inspired me to write this review! :) The prices are definitely coming down and taking advantage of new programs = a great deal on some great bud. Thanks to the whole gang! :)

Sometimes...you are wrong

It honestly looks like these guys are making EVERY effort to get prices down. I have to hand it to them for that. Good work

cj-tacoma I must agree with this comment. They are trying to lower their prices and that is much appreciated. Bringing prices down will create a lot more business and loyal customers!

Overpriced on Pine

2 people thought this review was helpful

The bud quality at these places is always top notch. As you'll see testing results on all the packages. Too bad the overall price & all the insulting taxes have made rec places the punchline to many of my jokes! Oh well, you'll always have tourists.

Good bud, if you can afford it!

Went in here about a month ago. Will not be back. The prices are outrageously high. Will not be going back.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. You will find, however, that we are the most competitively priced I-502 retailer in Tacoma. The prices continue to come down as the market is established. We hope you will come back and give us another shot! Thank you for your review.

richard55 To all the people that read RaynMan206 Posts (please know this). If you click on his profile and his posts you will see that he goes around just blasting collectives (except one). He will write a good review then follow it up with a bad review and his response to everyone that tries to say what they like about the collective...(he posts MULTIPLE negative comments about that collective or retail store! If your so unhappy why dont you read a few books and grow your own stuff (oh wait you cant do that in MOMMYS basement!!). This guy has no knowledge about marijuana! hes just a giant crybaby. Super Lemon Haze...tasty

1 person thought this review was helpful

Got an 8th of super silver haze at like 70 dollars or something. They had stuff upwards of $90/8th+. I know it's retail and they have to charge a lot? I guess? Either way, my bud was VERY tasty. It was also really dry...but still really really smelly and really good tasting. I'll never come back here though simply due to the prices. I guess this works though for recreational users? Kinda crazy but more power to 'em. Staff was really nice and almost too helpful. If you don't hard a medical rec or are from out of state, this place is worth your stop.

Thanks for the great review. SSH was a huge hit with all of our Rainier customers. Root Down Farms was the grower of this great strain. Awesome growers out of the Spokane area (indoor). Thanks again...and we will see you again soon..
