Solid Medicine. Good People.
In a state that just embraced medical cannabis a few short years ago, Minerva is doing a solid job. Nice staff. Great new facility. Good medicine. I've lived in NorCal and am in CO often so I'm not a 'noob'. It seems like several of the other negative reviews were written by inexperienced patients or other jealous NM providers. Their medicine is always described accurately and much better than my other local providers…IMO. Just my two cents.

When a business is successful, competitors will try and either copy that business or attempt to detract from it.
Minerva has seen great success over the last 3 years due to hard work and compassion for patients.
Minerva's parking lot would not be busy 6 days a week if they sold cannabis like the previous reviewer described.
I would be surprised if "NMrichard1969" wrote an honest review based on needing relief from an ailment.
He put the word medicine in quotation marks, and later talked about the desire to get a little high.
Minerva is not about providing cannabis to internet trolls wanting to get high, Minerva is about providing medicine
to legitimate patients who need relief from the current 19 qualifying conditions approved by the New Mexico
Department of Health. (According to their website, as of March 2014, there are 19 qualifying conditions)
"NMrichard1969" obviously doesn't need relief from any of the 19 conditions as he did not mention any one of them.
Minerva goes to great lengths to acquire cannabis strains with above average CBD content, Cannabidiol being the
reason medical cannabis helps patients with pain relief, inflammation of tissues, muscle spasms, appetite and many
other situations that take away from people's enjoyment of life.
Minerva's Facebook page currently has 800 likes and 4.8/5 stars, so I imagine most patients are not having
experiences like "NMrichard1969"'s supposed visit to Minerva.
Minerva provides safe access to New Mexico grown cannabis at a reasonable price and basically breaks even after
paying employees a fair wage and operating under the rules and laws that govern Non-Profit status.
Pure garbage in a nice package
I recently got my card and was very excited to try out Minerva. The website is amazing, much better than other NM producers that i have seen. The store location was a little hard to find and was not centrally located. A bit off the beaten path and much too far for me to drive to make the trip again. The dispensary was actually really nice, i guess they were in a transition phase or something because it was a bit disorganized. I waited about twenty five minutes, and was about to leave, until i was called back to check out the bud. Right away I could tell that i was being rushed to make my order and leave. This made me a little upset because i was a first time patient who just waited 25 minutes and was now being treated as if I was the one who needed to hurry. The guy who was the bud tender was awkward and did not seem to know much or if anything about medical cannabis. He was unable to answer any of my questions about the strains or the manner in which the medicine was grown. He only seemed to know the price and THC % of each strain. These numbers clearly printed on the label of the bag and also his sales pitch. I was very disappointed with his lack of knowledge about the "medicine" he was trying to sell me. They had about ten or twelve strains for sale, all of which were in jars to look at and smell. It looked like i was in the right place to get some good medicine. However, upon opening each jar and smelling each strain, i was extremely disappointed. Every single jar smelt the exact same; LIKE Sh*t. Even when trying my hardest i could not pick up a good hint of kind bud. In my entire life i have never smelt such poorly cured buds. It smelt like dry grass. The smell for me is very important, i know that if i don't like the smell i won't like the taste and none of the buds stunk like i like it. I asked the bud tender what he recommended and he was trying hard to hurry me out the door. He told me about a few strains and how other patients just love them so much, So I tried their Blue Dream, Hash-skunk (sounds yummy huh, it almost made me barf), Zozobra, and LA confidential. I think out of the four grams i bought the only one that even got me a little high was the blue dream. The others were so disgustingly nasty tasting that i gave up smoking them and just tossed them out. I was 100% pissed off at the fact that i wasted money on some bull crap "medicine". Minerva seemed to spend so much money on making a nice website, and fancy dispensary, but it is obvious that employees don't know what they are talking about and the medicine is some of the worst i have ever come across in my life. I will never return to Minerva and i strongly advise others to never even visit. It is Pure garbage in a nice package

Sorry, duplicate post.
A lot of information

They have a nice dispensary. It has a pipe shop now and they said they are adding a grow store too. The bud is not California grown but NM Medical grown so it is good for NM. NM has only been doing this since 2007 so they're not as experienced as Cali or like Colorado which has been at this since 2000.
Their Bhang Bars are tested by Pace Analytical, there is a sticker on the back.
I hope other patients support medical cannabis, it doesn't help our cause if you buy it on the street.
Just average bud

Probably won't go back... Too far to drive for mediocre product.
A few months ago, I purchased two different strains from Minerva: Blue Dream (sativa) and Blue Widow (80% sativa/40% indica), both at $14 per gram. (Label indicates Blue Widow was produced by Red Barn Growers.)
The Blue Dream smells like diesel to me, with hardly any resin (if at all), no seeds and a few sticks. The bud did not appear fresh and crumbled easily within my hands, resembling more of a powdery form than I am used to. The Blue Widow was pretty much the same as the Blue Dream, perhaps with a hint of citrus in the smell. This bud seemed a little fresher than the Blue Dream and not quite as powdery.
The Blue Dream may have been a little stronger than the Blue Widow, but both these strains lacked any real strength. Since these two strains were listed on Minerva's website as having the highest THC content, I don't see anything at this dispensary for an intractable pain patient.
Minerva is helping licensed patients

I don't always do reviews but the staff at Minerva treated me well when I first got my license. Their new office is also a lot better than the old one. I was smoking Blue Dream, then they sold out :( This seems to be a popular strain. The Harvest Blend was good enough, though, at a good price. They are open 6 days a week so I can usually get in before or after work. Thanks to all who participate in the Medical cannabis industry, it's better than being hooked on oxy!
Minerva is garbage!!

Seriously....whomever is writing the positive review for this place are invested. I have been to minerva 2 times and each time the staff is wonderful, the product is worse than the crappiest street marijuana. I bought Hog (a thunderous strain) an vanilla kush. Both smell like hay. No density the buds were wet and expensive considering that i have smoked mexican brick that was better. Buyer beware. Minerva is the worse dispensary in the west. That i do know
I would take a lot of convincing

I have been there three times and have never been impressed. The staff is friendly but I believe the " reviews" of their product is written by a staff member. On two different occasions I purchased three different kinds of buds. The problem is that all three different strains looked, tasted, smelled exactly the same. None of them gave a very good head buzz either. I do not recommend these guys. I think they are a rip off. I experienced the same problem twice. In short, unless things have changed, they SUCK. I will never buy from them again.
