Who We Are, The story behind Kaya began with three best friends from Boulder who shared a passion for their community, a taste for high quality cannabis, and a dream to run a dispensary that had high quality cannabis that was affordable for our friends and family. Back then we called it “Southwest Alternative Care”. As time went on, we needed a name that fit a little better with who we were, so we settled on “Kaya”. First and foremost, it means ‘beautiful’, but it’s also Jamaican slang for marijuana. Our leadership team includes a former eagle scout, a scientist, a former nonprofit director, and a World Series Poker champ (well, second place). Colorado is our home and we love doing business here. We will always remain a locally owned and operated shop, because we like meeting our customers and getting to know our community. We like to think of ourselves as a craft marijuana company: we grow all of our product in small batches, personally hand-trim it, and do an extended cure (which is like barrel-aging beer but doesn’t sound nearly as trendy). We develop our own genetics and strive to create new and unique strains for every batch. Make sure to come in often, because your favorite one-of-a-kind strain might sell out quickly!
Our Promise, The only cannabis company that makes the world better with every dollar you spend. KAYA IS ABOUT COMMUNITY – A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS, A COMMUNITY OF COLORADANS, A COMMUNITY OF GOOD PEOPLE. WE LOVE GIVING BACK TO THE PEOPLE WE CARE ABOUT AND WANT YOU TO BE INVOLVED! EVERY TIME YOU SHOP WITH US, A PERCENTAGE OF THE PURCHASE IS DONATED TO A LOCAL NONPROFIT OF YOUR CHOICE. EACH MONTH, WE PICK LOCAL NONPROFITS THAT DO AMAZING THINGS IN THE FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY, SUCH AS: THE GATHERING PLACE, DENVER HOMELESS OUTLOUD, TOYS FOR TOTS, FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES, AND THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.

I absolutely love shopping at Kaya, but recently I noticed the bud tenders weighing my product a little short. I'm thinking I'll look elsewhere, great bud though.
Great prices , love the weed and the costumer service ❤
Great deals and products and I always leave satisfied.
I really like everything I have tried,I have had a few family members start going to Kaya ....always fire
Kaya has great variety of bud and the atmosphere is awesome!!!!
I've seen a few negative reviews on this place. but I also know from working in retail that if one can find any reason to they will throw a bad review. well my experience was awesome the staff were pretty chill and the weed I got was pretty decent. was it the best is ever had? no but it's the best I've had in a few months and I smoke alot. and I've been smoking for close to 15 years. while I admit I would have loved to see a bigger selection the store space is small so is the selection. but the selection goes from decent to great. I havey favorite shops. This until I find reason for it not too is now on the list of one's I will visit when possible. so I say check it out give them a chance. they Arnt bad at all in my opinion.. and as you can tell its along opinion lol.

I've been to this place a handful of times over the years. Bud has always been ok as are the prices.
Problem is you never really know what price you're gonna get. Weedmaps says one thing, then when you get in there the price is 30% higher. If you call them out or they think you're cool, they'll drop the price.
Me: "why is the price so much different than what I paid yesterday?"
Budtender: "I don't know. Prices change"
Me: "did the price on this strain change today?"
BT: " I don't know what you paid yesterday. The price is the price. You don't have to buy it"
Another budtender chimed in with some professionalism, but by then it was too late.
Moral of the story: since the change from SWAC to Kaya, this place has gone downhill. The level of disdain SOME of the budtenders show their patients is palpable. Some of the employees are really courteous and knowledgeable. Some just isn't enough
