There is a huge difference in what you have "in stock" vs what you are actually selling. No one cares what you're growing if its not available for purchase. Anyway they promote on weedmaps that they have over 50 strains on their menu but when you show up you see maybe 5-10. When asked they say that's what they have growing. Also in desperate need of some remodeling, plenty of other places to get better deals.
All strains smelled wet and unappealing! I couldn't get out of there fast enough
I really like there place Staff are really cool and polite and the bud is great really good taste to it to but all and all the happy buddha is the place to shop.
this place is a hidden gem, almost dont want to let everyone know how good it is so yall dont buy everything up. ive been smoking for 10 years(heavy i might add, and this place always seems to have something thatll put me down.) my tolerance is really high so i know that the growers for this place is on point, they alway make the buds look nice with no leafs, barely stems unless you get gigantic size nugs like 3.5 or bigger, but thats expected, when breaking the buds open and seeing the undisturbed trichomes just makes me want to smell the bud instead of smoke it to medicate myself, but i always know that the next time i come in to get my meds ill get the same experience. i think i enjoy breaking them down just as much as getting stoned. thanks happy buddha wellness center, as soon as i get my new card in the mail ill be in to sign over. until then, cheers everyone, have a great day, i know i will. just waiting for my second home to open up today. lol
really good meds and the staff is awesome and very comforting and knowledgeable. love the atmosphere and the whole experience. thanks guys for everything you guys do.
I was impressed with the price but after vising them a few times I just can't get over the taste of their bud. There are not flushing right or something
Called in beforehand and asked exact 8th price + tax, turns out to be 22 something with first time visit. So I brought $22 and change in and once I got there they said they had to charge more money for the bags they give it to you in. This brings the actual 8th price to ~25, which is nothing special compared to other dispensaries. Felt pretty deceptive to tack on an extra price, especially when I had called in beforehand to ask for the exact price.
1 person thought this review was helpful
So this is my first review, I'm hoping it's helpful, but we'll just haveta see!
I'm going to start with accessibility, and continue based on the visit to try to keep it in chronological order, so try to keep up with me!
ACCESSIBILITY: I really did have trouble finding this place, but thanks to WeedMaps it was easy. I know that sounds cliche, or like an ad for WeedMaps, but i swear it's true. They are located in a sideways strip mall thats kind of hidden behind another building. There is a tiny sign on a block out front for the strip mall, but it only says "Happy Buddha" from what you can read driving by. And when you get into the lot, its almost a guess which unit it is, unless you see the tiny sign in the window that says "Happy Buddha Wellness Center". Luckily when i walked up, a budtender was outside (i can't remember her name for the life of me, names aren't my strongsuit) and asked if i was looking for the dispensary and led me inside. I would highly suggest improved signage, both above the door to the location, and add something to the sign out front identifying the location with MMJ. So this category had to recieve a 2.
ATMOSPHERE: When i walked in, i was not shocked, nor was i amazed. It's just a little shop that sells some medicine. Theres 2 glass cases with edibles, wax/shatter/kief, and prerolls etc. Behind the case was a shelf with about 12ish strains in large jars. I don't know about you, but i love dogs, so the 2 large dogs wandering around (a Boxer and a Husky i believe) didn't bother me in the least. Especially since they were so very well behaved, they even sort of improved the atmoshpere a bit. But like i said, i love dogs, so you might not share this same opinion. The menus/prices were pretty clearly displayed on papers posted on the wall and shelf; but i would say they lacked a professional look to them, or some kind of uniformity between them. I'm going to personally give the atmosphere a 4, but if i take out my personal bias with the pups, i would say a solid 3.
STAFF: When i arrived 2 of the 3 budtenders were outside doing a task, which, like i stated earlier, helped me find the location. They happily led me inside and were very friendly. The gentleman showing me the buds (again with the names...) was helpful, he pointed out the flavors/scents of each strain, explained the high of each. He answered all my questions (i had quite a few, i'm annoying, i know) with no hesitation. The other budtenders were making smalltalk with me during the cashout process (my odd initials, EEE lol), which made me feel like a priority. Too many times have i gone to a dispensary and gotten completely ignored by everyone except the budtender taking my money. Without question i give the staff a solid 5.
PRICE: Being a first time patient, i recieved member pricing. They were currently doing $15 eighths (which i later found out was also a 4 gram eighth) so i purchased an eighth to sample their bud quality which i'll get to here in the next section. The prices are pretty good, and they seem to do deals pretty often. i would just urge the staff to put your deals on WeedMaps so we can see the deals before coming in. Price gets a 5.
and last but definitely NOT last... BUD QUALITY:
For the best results, I'm going to actually smoke this bud for the first time while writing this section. So while i'm working the grinder, I'll touch on the strain i purchased for this review. I got an eighth of Purple Voodoo, because i LOVE purple, and god i wish i could show you a picture because it is just that: PURPLE. It has a subtle hint of dark green and it is covered in orange hairs, with a nice crystal dusting over it all. A very beautiful bud, that has an earthy smell with a flowery kind of scent mixed in. Overall a dark scent, not extremely pungent, hopefully not foreshadowing the flavor as such. Well here goes.... Very smooth smoke with a sweet almost grapey, earthy, dark flavor. Oh did i mention this is a hybrid, and not an indica? no, not even an indica dominant. Apparently it's a sativa dominant hybrid, which is another reason this bud peaked my interest. The high kicks in softly, with a lively feeling, great for video games (I'm currently on Destiny) but also brings on the munchies. So in conclusion, for bud quality I'm going to haveta say a 4. This is only because of the other strains I was shown, the Purple Voodoo alone is a solid 5. The Lemon Skunk smelled earthy and not at all skunky, which was very disappointing as it is one of my favorites. A few of the other strains i was shown had unappetizing smells, and just didn't have the look you want from primo buds.
Overall, Happy Buddha receives a 3.8 out of 5.
This won't be my first choice for dispensaries, but i would, and in fact i will, visit again. The price makes it a great deal, but the bud quality does seem to suffer because of it. If you're looking for a deal, or wanna find that diamond in the rough (*AHEM* Purple Voodoo), then head to the Happy Buddha.
