About Purple Gelato: Purple Gelato, a California native, was named after its vibrant purple hues and gourmet dessert-like aroma. Its resin-caked buds, purple leaves and vibrant orange pistils give it striking appeal in the eye candy department, and such traits are the result of a meticulous breeding program lasting several generations. Purple Gelato blends the exceptional genes of Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (GSC). Known for its exceedingly potent high, Sherbert descends from the classic GSC crossed with Pink Panties. It has a complex aroma of skunky citrus, sweet berry and candy. The other parent is a phenotype of GSC that sports Durban Poison and OG Kush genetics. Novices should know better than to be lured in by its appetizingly sweet minty flavor – it induces an overpowering full-body effect that can even incapacitate veterans. Such an astounding blend of genetics resulted in a THC powerhouse with tantalizing flavors and a gorgeous aroma reminiscent of sweet berries, mint and citrus. Much like its ancestors, this cross induces an initial rush of energizing euphoria with intense physical relaxation that does not normally turn to couch-lock. Available from Homegrown Cannabis Co. in feminized seed form, Purple Gelato guarantees a heavy yield of top-grade buds when grown under optimal environmental conditions.

More about this strain: Gelato

Gelato is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, named in homage to its sweet aroma. Also known as Larry Bird, Gelato (#33) was first cultivated in Northern California's Bay Area and is derived from a deep bank of genetics created by the Cookie Family, the Sherbinskis family, and cultivator Mario Guzman.

The cultivators parted ways following its creation, and the cultivator who possesses the most “stable version” of Gelato genetics is up for debate. Cookies cultivates a few phenotypes and descendants of the strain named Gelato #42, Dolce Gelato, and a sun-grown Gelato. Sherbinskis grows four stabilized Gelato phenotypes in its rotation as well: Gelato #41 (Bacio Gelato), Gelato #43 (Gello Gelato), Gelato #47 (Mochi Gelato), and Gelato #49 (Acai Berry Gelato). Per Sherbinskis, the #33 phenotype is no longer in cultivation.
