A $19.95 SERVICE FEE!? WTF!?
Tahoe Wellness Center is a rip off to say the least. The buds and concentrates are decent but WAY over priced. I came in over the weekend for my first time in forever, I purchased some cold water hash and some edibles, all of which were over priced. I talked to the bud tender a little who seemed like she didn't know a whole lot about any of the edibles or the concentrates, and gave me very little help. I payed and left the building then once getting in my car to leave, looked at my receipt, I noticed that I was charged a 19.95 service fee. WHAT THE F!@% IS THAT!? Do you not pay your bud tenders a regular salary? Can you justify this charge at all!? And if you are charging me $19.95 to talk to your bud tender, she better be able to advise me about all of your products, give me honest advice, and get me in and out fast. And if you ARE going to charge me for a service fee, make that clear before I pay for my meds. Im very very very displeased with this collective, they have gone down hill since I last visited.
Are you doing 7/10 "OIL" special tomorrow,7/10/14?
you do have a smoke lounge?
I noticed that you sponsored the LA HIGHTIMES event i February but didht have a booth or any representation in the medication section, Nor did i see any sign of you guys in Santa Rose @ San Francisco cup, either way, are you going to have a dab lounge? Try and keep your five star review i will be updating tomorrow night. hope theres at least a shatter!
**update** no 7/10 deals and no good shatter or wax disappointed glad i brought my own.
The buds are always dried out and there isn't much of a selection. Also you should check the weight because Ii weighed it and it was 1 gram short. Beware of that.
This place was one of the best dispensaries I have been to in nor cal. My new #1. Friendly people, dab bar, couches for the medicating area, they have it all. I thoroughly enjoy that place.
My first time here and the employees are very helpful and the product I bought is too notch. Thank you
Not from tahoe!
Im from LA and i come up to tahoe every year and i dont know how ive never known about you. Definetly the coolest spot in all of tahoe. Lexi took great care of me for my first time and made sure i felt welcomed. Their area to medicate is wheres its at! Safe spot to medicate without dealing with the 5-0. Everytime im in tahoe i will be coming here! Thanks for everything! See you in the summer time! Keep tahoe blue!!!
They're Making An Effort
Big fist bump and a spark of my vape pen to this place.
Theyve updated their menu twice on here in the last week, the budtenders were much more attentive and ready for questions, 2 of the last 3 visits there were alcohol pads right by the various water pipes in all spots of the lounge & someone was waiting at the bar ready with samples (thank you), and theyve gotten a much better selection of flowers and concentrates. I think its a pretty even one: sativas, indicas, and hybrids all over. they were much more efficiant and i felt like everyone was able to leave happy with their choice quicker than before.
The only suggestions i have (you know me... Theres a few.) are to label *at least* the thc and cbd/cbn percentages on the strain cards of each of the concentrates; if you feel it would violate the vendors privacy in some way to say what it actually is. And i'd like to see the 14% thc and below flowers taken off the 15$ per gram menu. I do however love the sun grown deals, theyre actually pretty nice strains with a good turn out. i very much enjoyed the banana kush, pretty awesome outdoor. May be if its below 14% thc, price it just like those instead? I would feel that to be fair. I dont care how pretty my weed is or if its grown inside, i need to know what percentage per gram im paying, concentrate or flower - and thats one of the biggest (if not the biggest) deciding factors in my purchasing medicine. i cant be the only one.
A lot of other places give 4 or 5 gram eighths and 1.5 grams, & most of those dispensaries offer meds for around the same price you do. Dont take this personally, but I weigh my meds everytime no matter what. I wouldnt be upset if i can home one day to find an extra 1.2 instead of making exactly weight.
Consider giving a better locals discount and a way to use our points towards purchasing meds, thatd be just fantastic.
If you guys continue to keep up the improvments, youre patients will feel more loyalty towards you, youll see better reviews and more business. And not because youre the only place left in town.
im sure of it.
An ok place
2 people thought this review was helpful!
this place gets 2-3 stars from me. while im fairly new to having a card myself, i have been medicating for 13 yrs and my family has been mmj patients for most of that time, a few members with experience in growing as well.
as far as the staff, most have been beyond friendly to me. the people in the front signing you in are the nicest. the budtenders in back have decent attitudes as well, but every time i ask questions about the flowers or concentrates, i get very basic answers and they dont seem very knowledgable about the products they are selling. even when im specific about what type im looking for, they still are all over the place with recommending strains. you get to look at samples in jars, but they pull out pre packaged product for you to take home, which is not a good sign to me, its usually very dry and while all of the bags make weight (surprisingly), its just that and nothing extra. (which you only hope for with prices like that!) the prices are a bit high, considering when i check my receipt and see that i paid 45 for an 1/8 that is listed as 32 on the receipt, but at the bottom a 'service charge' is added, making it a $45 1/8, meaning i pay them 20 on my total bill just to serve me. i dont understand, as ive never encountered this before in a dispensary, i thought they were supposed to be non-profit. i mean, they are ***serving medicine to patients***, i believe its just like any other pharmacy. Rite Aid doesnt tack on a service fee for dispensing pills, and neither do most other dispensaries in the state. you only pay for the medicine you receive.
most of the buds are 14%-18%, although i have found one listed as 20 point something percent. sometimes im a little skeptical of the actual percentage but even though the products are dry, theyve still been ok. i did pay 45 for an 1/8 with seeds, and they were very nice about letting me trade it out after i was unhappy with the bowl i had packed. but i was upset that they did try to tell me that some strains naturally have seeds, when im very well aware that seeds come from letting it go over in the growing process.
As for member rewards, there really isnt any, which is very unpleasing. the local discount is almost non existent, it might cover part of the tax on your medicine. you dont get anything besides a calendar and a $5 discount on your first purchase for being a first time member. they do give points for purchasing from the co-op, but you cant use it to purchase medicine of any kind, which is almost redundant. you can purchase books, gear (tshirts, not pipes or vape pens!) or donate your points to one of a few charities. which is nice, but with the prices i want money off my meds.
I can say i very much enjoy being able to purchase meds and then walk five feet to a couch or chair, and use the water pipes they have about for patients to use and hang out and socialize. since you can just bring your own in and use the lounge, i think its great if you want to medicate safely while youre on vacation, since we have so many tourists here. they have gorgeous paintings everywhere for sale that make the place beautiful and peaceful. the hash bar in the corner is great, they usually have a budtender waiting to light dabs for you and your friends. and they allow pets, im always bringing my puppies in for a visit. theyre very friendly about letting you have your 'healing companion' with you, purchasing or medicating.
over all, if your visiting, its worth a shot. if you love edibles, this is the place for you for any budget. as far as flowers and concentrates, the prices need to come down and the staff need to be readily prepared for the questions i have before i revise my review.
Sweet ass shop!!!
