Os presentamos Auto Malawi x Northern Lights, la primera variedad 100 % autofloreciente de ACE Seeds.
Híbrido sativa/indica de excelente vigor y estructura, produciendo una enorme cola principal y poderosas ramas laterales cargadas de cogollos bien resinosos, que sorprenderá por su producción y calidad incluso a los cultivadores de autoflorecientes mas versados.
Esta primera versión de este híbrido produce 3 fenotipos principales. El primer fenotipo mas indica madura en tan solo 8 semanas desde que se inicia la floración, con una producción media. El segundo fenotipo (el mas interesante a nuestro juicio) produce potentes plantas sativa/indica (con una floración de unas 9 semanas y media), de enorme producción, perfil de terpenos muy complejos, abundante producción de resinas y excelente ratio flor/hoja. El tercer y último fenotipo se desarrolla en floración prácticamente como una sativa pura (por lo que generalmente necesita unas 10-12 semanas de floración), permitiendo al cultivador de autoflorecientes experimentar con fenotipos africanos muy sativa y poco frecuentes en las variedades autoflorecientes actuales.
Auto Malawi x Northern Lights tiene mayor influencia de fenotipos de Malawi morada que otros cruces de Malawi, por lo que muchas plantas adquieren bellas tonalidades moradas y rosas al final de floración.
Los perfiles de terpenos que ofrece esta variedad son fragantes y complejos. Los aromas en floración pueden variar entre Petit Suisse y yogur de fresa (en los fenotipos morados mas sativa), y aromas a zumo de frutas (piña, pera, melocotón) en los fenotipos verdes sativa/indica mas productivos. Los fenotipos sativa mas extremos son mas amaderados y de mas larga floración.
Como es habitual con las variedades autoflorecientes, Auto Malawi x Northern Lights empieza a florecer a las 4 o 5 semanas desde su germinación, independientemente del fotoperiodo de interior o de la época del año en exterior, permitiéndole madurar correctamente en latitudes muy alejadas del ecuador donde las variedades fotodependientes empiezan a florecer demasiado tarde para madurar a tiempo.
También puede ser cultivada en climas de latitudes medias, de forma que al germinarla en primavera acaba de madurar en verano, adelantándose a la cosecha habitual de otoño de las variedades fotodependientes.
Excelente adaptabilidad en cultivos de interior, pudiéndose cosechar junto a las madres con un fotoperiodo de crecimiento, y así poder obtener una cosecha sin necesidad de tener que preparar una zona de cultivo aparte con distintos fotoperiodos, tal como ocurre con las variedades fotodependientes.

BOUQUET: Aromas a yogur de fresa y zumo de frutas (piña, pera, melocotón), algunas mas amaderadas. Sabor floral, dulce y resinoso, a cereales con miel.
EFECTO: Tiene 3 fases bien diferenciadas: empieza con un efecto sensorial, mentalmente lúcido, que aumenta los pensamientos; se desarrolla a continuación mas denso y ensoñado, para finalizar con un efecto narcótico, relajante y placentero.
CONSEJOS DE CULTIVO
Puesto que Auto Malawi x Northern Lights empieza a florecer a las 4 o 5 semanas de vida, es importante maximizar el crecimiento todo lo posible utilizando desde el inicio macetas de al menos 7 litros para cultivo en interior, y de unos 15-20 litros para cultivo en exterior.
Los fenotipos indica y sativa/indica requieren niveles de nutrientes medios/altos, mientras que los fenotipos sativa mas extremos requieren una alimentación suave.
Los fenotipos sativa/indica mas productivos suelen necesitar que se apuntalen las colas debido al enorme volumen y peso que llegan a alcanzar al final de floración.

We present ACE Seeds' first 100% autoflowering strain: Auto Malawi x Northern Lights.
Sativa/indica hybrid of excellent vigor and structure, producing a huge main cola and powerful side branches loaded with well resinous buds, its production and quality will surprise even the most experienced autoflowering growers.
The first version of this hybrid produces 3 main phenotypes. The first, more indica phenotype matures in just 8 weeks since the flowering is started, producing an average yield. The second phenotype (the most interesting in our opinion) produces potent sativa/indica plants (with a flowering of about 9 weeks and a half), of huge yield, very complex terpene profiles, abundant resin production and excellent flower/leaf ratio. The third and final phenotype develops in flowering an almost pure sativa expression (so it usually needs about 10-12 weeks of flowering), allowing the autoflowering growers to experience with very sativa african phenotypes, quite rare in current autoflowering strains.
Auto Malawi x Northern Lights is more influenced by Purple Malawi phenotypes than other Malawi crosses, oftenly showing beautiful purple and pink tones at the end of flowering.
The terpene profiles are fragrant and complex. The aromas in flowering can vary between Petit Suisse and strawberry yogurt (in the more sativa Purple Malawi phenotypes), and fruit juice (pineapple, pear, peach) in the better yielding green sativa/indica phenotypes. The most extreme sativa phenotypes have woodier aromas and a longer flowering time.
As usual with autoflowering strains, Auto Malawi x Northern Lights starts to flower after 4 or 5 weeks from germination, regardless of the indoor photoperiod or outdoor season, allowing it to mature properly in latitudes far from the equator, where the photodependent strains start to bloom too late to mature correctly.
It can also be cultivated in mid-latitude climates, finishing in summer time when it is started in spring, months ahead of the usual autumn harvest of the photodependent strains.
Excellent adaptability to indoor growing, where it can be flowered and harvested next to the mothers with a growing photoperiod, and thus to be able to obtain a harvest without having to prepare another growing area with different photoperiods, as it happens with the photodependent strains.

BOUQUET: Aromas of strawberry yogurt and fruit juice (pineapple, pear, peach), some plants are woodier. Sweet, resinous and floral flavor, like cereals with honey.
HIGH: It has 3 well differentiated phases: it begins with a sensorial, mentally lucid effect, that increases the thoughts; then it becomes more dense and dreamy, finishing with a pleasant, narcotic and relaxed effect.
GROWING TIPS
Since Auto Malawi x Northern Lights starts the flowering after 4 or 5 weeks of life, it is important to maximize the growth as much as possible using from the beginning pots of at least 7 liters for indoor growing, and pots of about 15-20 liters for outdoor growing.
The indica and sativa/indica phenotypes require average/high nutrient levels, while the more extreme sativa phenotypes require a soft feeding.
The colas of the very high yielding sativa/indica phenotypes usually require support in late flowering due to the huge volume and weight they reach at the end of flowering.

Northern Lights is one of the most famous and sought-after “Indica” strains of all time. Considered a descendant of Afghani and Thai landrace strains, the exact origin of Northern Lights remains a bit of a mystery. It may have originated in Washington in the 1970s, prior to reaching the Netherlands, where breeder Neville Schoenmaker pioneered several Northern Lights phenotypes in the ’80s for The Seed Bank, an early iteration of Sensi Seeds.
Since 1985, when Sensi Seeds first commercialized this strain, Northern Lights has been a landmark Indica strain in cannabis culture. Northern Lights #5 — arguably the most popular Northern Lights phenotype — won the Cannabis Cup in 1989, 1990, and 1992.
